scored big time with an $80 LEGO haul on marketplace. It’s a bit of a mishmash of things that need rebuilding, but some gold in there.
ooh – there’s a proposal for WP-Admin to get a CSS reskin as a stop-gap (before a full redesign) for WP 7.0. And there’s a Playground to see what it is like. #WordPress
Great start to Enqueue conference – reflections on SEO in the AI age, and a primer on cache improvements in WP6.9.
Thinking a lot about the benefit of repetitive feedback, and continuing to raise issues that have been acknowledged, but not addressed.
just imported all my old notes into this site, and then inserted them as an RSS feed into my main blog. Now I just need to finish some tidying up.
Ever had that feeling when your brain is both wired and fried at the same time? Excited to keep going with something, but just tired…
gradually getting things hooked up. This post should be federating and also syndicated to bluesky.
trying out something new by having a dedicated blog for short posts/toots/notes. No titles, no taxonomies, just quick thought.
The new Naked Gun is such a silly movie. But fun. And funny.
Reliving my childhood today. Going to a St George Dragons game with my Uncle. Except that this it was with my wife and daughters, and we took him.
A test post
With moth.social now offline (and I wasn’t quick enough to migrate) I’m doing some testing with sending notes directly from my site…
Today, on the first day of the year, I had my feet in the ocean just after sunrise, and just before sunset. There are definitely worse ways to start the year off.

I’ve been doing lots of thinking of how owning your own WordPress site could be a replacement for publishing on multiple social media sites. Publish what you want and have it syndicated where you want…. There’s plenty of gaps in the idea, but there’s getting to be less of them.
Just testing out the Enable Mastadon Apps #WordPress plugin from @alex@kirk.at. This was published on Mastadon but should appear on my site as well
Thinking more about the best to integrate my site into the Fediverse and the best way to have both these short ‘Note’ posts and also my longer form posts. The WordPress ActivityPub plugin is good for that – but I feel like I need to tweak things a lot still.
Catching up on the Keynote and other chatter for WCEU and feeling like it’s both an interesting and challenging time for the #WordPress ecosystem.
I’ve been super slow on the uptake with utilising AI – but finally found a use-case that was really helpful for me. I’ve tended to proof read books for my daughters to check them for themes and content while they’re young – but realised that ChatGPT can give a pretty good summary of those (and save me the time).
We’re looking for Speakers for WordCamp Sydney – which will be held in November 2024. Got a great #WordPress related talk you’d like to share with the community? Let us know!

The combination of COVID and some time off has me returning to work with a GIANT pile of notifications to catch up on.
Absolutely loving sleepmakeswaves new album ‘It’s Here, But I Have No Names For It’. Beautiful melodic post-rock. Have a listen here:

Trying out IndieBlocks on my #WordPress site to see if I can host my notes locally and then Federate them automatically
